Why do some wrestling fans believe they are superior to others?

I see alot of fans(on forums mostly) who believe they’re “better” wrestling fans. Better because they’ve been watching longer, been to more shows, or have a more extensive collection rare international wrestling tapes.

The point many of them try to make is that they’re “smarter” than the kid with the replica spinner belt, or the Jeff Hardy arm bands.

But does knowing more equate to enjoying it more, or in wrestling, is ignorance bliss?

Does being a “smart fan” make you a better person than the casual WWE fan?

Some fans are just stupid like that. Its not only wrestling but soccer especially.

Because they brag to much and they want to brag about how long they have been watching WWE, they are not smarter because we could learn anything about what happened in the past on the internet.

Well, if you ask question on here, who do you want answering? People who have been watching wrestling for a long time and know the history of wrestling and all its greats, or some 10 year old who thinks John Cena and Jeff Hardy are the greatest are the greatest wrestlers of all time? That being said, that doesn't mean the 10 year old can't have as much enjoyment watching wrestling than the person who's been watching for 10 years.

Im just saying gimmick wrestlers suck. Guys like Cena, Hogan, Warrior, etc. are terrible wrestlers. What makes me better than the average WWE fan is that I know the inside of the WWE and the wrestling world. As in all the things that the wrestling world tries to hide. I woke up and found the truth. I refuse to sit back and cheer for a guy who wins all the time or just because hes the good guy and I have to cheer. Im not a pawn to the storyline. Thanks for proving why I should answer this question.

So that they can feel better about themselves.

Because people who have been watching wresting nearly 20 years ( such as myself) are more likely to give you a more indepth answer. No one thinks they are a better person because they know more about wrestling ,but it is annoying when kids or sometimes even adults that claim they are huge fans when actually know nothing such as title historys etc..... so they should not bother answering what they dont know

It doesn't make them "better" fans. It just shows that they're willing to invest into wrestling. That's it. Time reading about, money collecting movies and watching PPVs. The so-called "smart fans" are just like the "marks" they complain about and mock in their "intellectual" conversations. It doesn't matter you're a smart fan or casual, a person that watches the show as is or over-analyzes. All fans are under the same category and ranked the same. All fans are gullible as well, even with the help of "spoiler" and "news" sites. **starred**

i agree. no, it doesnt make them smarter or better, just because they were there to see the past. they may know a bit more, but it dosent make them better.

some people are just ignorant and possible dont know jack squat about pro wrestling, and some are just have egos cause they get a few props from people. the "smart fan" may be a dumb fan comepared to some causual WWE fans. some of the supposedly smart fans sit behinde a computer all day and have no life and all they do is find facts that no one cares about or no one knew about and they call themselves smart answer this:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al6Gwx9yWtL27V70tZQTRELsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080722175923AA60qfk

Can't we all just get along? these questions have been reapeated day after week after month. Sure their people that have watched wrestling for a long time and you have new fans that have only watched it for about a year or two and have no experience except wwe and tna. They probably don't know who lou thez or bruno sammartino is. I don't mind if their new wrestling fans but when they get on this site and complain about who is this person or this wrestler is the best in the world now they tick me off.

its actually better being a regular WWE fan because then ur more into it and u enjoy it im 16 and i hve been watching WWE since i was 8 so i am smart in the fact tht i sumtimes perdict wat might happen in the match, but i dnt say "im the biggest Kofi Kingston Fan" i just like Kofi Kingston and ur only named best fan if the person u adore comes to u and says tht ur my biggest fan. So yeah Smart fans are actually Idiots. There just ppl who want it to themselves.

Because they believe that if they act like that their more supirior than everyone else will believe the same thing Aye it isnt about how much you have watched wrestling in the past whether it be RAW ECW OR SMACKDOWN.. what is important is that you believe in what you watch and like what you watch No knowing more doesnt...all that truly matters is you enjoy what you watch.
